New LED high brightness models provide a clear crisp view with low power consumption, less heat & longer life.
240 volt with 5 diopter lens will appear 225% bigger than normal.
Possibly the most useful device you could have in your workshop! They help to reduce eye strain when working on complex PCBs etc. Manufactured utilising 56 high brightness, warm white LEDs (colour temperature 3,5000 - 4,500k). This enables the lamp to maintain the colours of various objects as if illuminated by a natural light source.
Uses are not only limited to electronics, of course. They are also suitable for stamp and coin collectors, model makers, embroiderers, jewellers and the like. It has a 130mmØ glass lens and the magnifying head can be easily set to virtually any desired position on its spring-loaded arm assembly. Simply clamps to your workbench or desk (up to 60mm thick).
Arm extends to approximately 900mm (35")
To add mobility to your lamp, simply add the wheeled floor stand.

I already have one of these types of magnifier lights I purchased from Jaycar in 2011, but its a flouro unit. It is a great unit too, although it chews a little bit more power and you need to change light bulbs and starter units on it every so often.
The reason I purchased this unit is not only the power savings but also the fact I need one for my desk inside the house and one for the garage. The first bulb on the flouro unit lasted me a good 4.5 years, I had to change the starter unit at about 2 years old and discovered the cradle it sits into was actually broken and very brittle crappy plastic although the part you twist the starter unit into was OK, so it still does the job. The next bulb and starter unit I purchased only lasted about 9 months, So when I was shopping for airbrush compressors and found the magnifier LED unit on Hobbytools I had no hesitation in purchasing this unit. In fact I bought this a good fortnight before I decided to drop half a tonne on a new Sparmax TC-620X.
I am happy with this unit as I found my flouro job to be a bit too bright for my indoor desk most of the time, so while this unit isn't as bright as the flouro it is perfect for what I need, which is illumination for illustration work with the occasional, OK who am i kidding, Im getting old and my sight isn't what it used to be, more often than not use of the magnifier.
In comparison to the Jaycar flouro, this unit is I think not only cheaper but better constructed and because its LED starts up like an incandescent, immediately its worth the money.
Also with both purchases the delivery was pretty fast from Melbourne to Newcastle.

This product I would rate as Good. The light is bright and cool. The magnifier shows a clear image though there is a little distortion of the image towards the edges. The arm is easily adjustable and is firmly held to the table with the clamp. It returns to the set position from a position clear of the work area.

First time using this item for modelling purposes and it has become my most useful tool for detail work , solid construction and easy to use.
