AEC-K - Air Eraser Kit is easy to use and operates like a small sand blaster with little difficulty and a good deal of accuracy. Can be used anywhere an abrasive is required to delicately abrade. It can be used for decorative etching of glass, dental lab work, and cleaning fine jewellery and fine parts.
The AEC Air Eraser is a versatile instrument that can erase colour errors and act as an etching tool. It is used by hobbyists and manufacturers to clean jewellery and fine parts, remove discolouration, rust and corrosion, etch glass or cut monograms. It is used by lithographers to highlight half-tones and erase defects without marring the surface or leaving a smudge. It is used extensively by model railroaders for weathering railcars and accessories.
You can remove old paint and rust in minutes from grooves and recesses impossible to reach with any other method. The Paasche 'Air Eraser' will also distress wood for an aged look and engraves glass when used with a stencil. And because the grains of abrasive are so fine, it will remove paint without removing surface details...even on plastic.

Passche Air Eraser
By: Ted (Teditor) Freeman on 8 June 2014I have been thinking about one of these for a while, an American N Scale magazine recently had an article about them, I liked what I read and decided to go ahead a purchase one. At this stage I have stripped some lettering from R-T-R wagons and was able to paint them without any evidence of the cleaned area (I fanned the finish out, usually, if you just paint over factory lettering, it will show through) Some brands you can remove lettering without affecting the base coat of paint and it is also possible to do some weathering. The powder is very fine, wear a face mask as advised, glasses (goggles) and outside or if you can, in a fan exhaust spray booth or similar. After the short time owning this unit, I wouldn't be without it. The beauty of buying it from Hobby Tools Australia is that they carry extensive stocks of Passche spares and accessories.
