Cut Off MITRE SAW (KGS-80)
Rated 5/5 based on 1 reviews.Cut-off/mitre saw KGS 80 (220-240V) - 27160
We consider this the ideal machine for precise mitre cutting and accurate length cutting; the round worktable and clamped work piece rotates, not the headstock!
Because the headstock (patented mechanism) moves laterally, it eliminates any possibility of the blade and the clamping system colliding, yet the blade/kerf and the edge of the integral clamp are close enough to ensure cutting is clean and free of vibration and chatter.
You can use the fence and the 45 degree mitre capability together for critical and repeatable work such as picture frames. The blade is driven via a toothed belt by a quiet DC motor, and we include a tungsten tipped saw blade for cutting non-ferrous metals, woods and plastics.
All slides and fittings are CNC milled for perfect mating, and the table and base are made from die-cast aluminium.
Included components:
- adjustable fence
- 1 x tungsten-carbide tipped saw blade, 36T x 80mm diameter
- polycarbonate blade guard
- integrated V-slotted clamping vice

precise cutting of handrails on my Spanish galleon
By: James Harrap on 30 April 2014I bought the KGS 80 to help me cut precise lengths for handrails, pin racks and lots of other items for the "San Martin" galleon - including decking strips and hatch frames which had 45 degree bevel. The saw is very well made and feels solid. The clamping device is magic in that it centres each piece exactly under the middle of the blade. The saw cuts so clean! The only problem I have found is that sometimes the cut-off piece pings off and lands on the floor!
